Word of The Day: The Enemy of Progress!

Humans are guilty one way or the other, when it comes to putting things aside for a more comfortable time.

Procrastination is the focus word for today.

Procrastination:

P = Pain linger on forever as you are preoccupied with the failed goal. This reduces effectiveness on other deals/goals

R = Regrets follow with sighs of had I known

O = Oh! I should have done it on time. You engage in obsessive thinking and guilt

C = Crying in the dark for my folly

R = Rage, restlessness and a reduction in goal output

A = Aftermath of the delayed action could lead to agitation which can be overwhelming

S = Served me this bad report of a stunted growth. (Self – criticism follows)

T = Till I change my attitude

I = I will be moving in circles

N = Nagging at my inactions

A = At the sight of someone else’s success

T = Taking things for granted

I = In a world full of competitors

O = Of people with distinct values and dreams  (Oh! A dismal fate)

N = Now is the present and I will not procrastinate again

  1. I have a bad habit of putting things off till it’s almost too late. It’s like I know that I have to get it done but I always find an excuse to postpone….maybe i’m addicted to pressure…because I perform better when I have little time and much to do. But this year, I want to try doing things on time. I’ll let you know if I win…lol

    1. I think the habit of procrastinating is innate in humans. Most people are guilty and most love working under pressure. I am at my best under pressure, sadly, that’s the home truth. I try my best though, to attend to urgent matters as the need arises. Crossing my fingers for you and hope you keep your words. Just keep me posted if you win… Kikiki! 🙂
