Conceal – The Daily Prompt!

The Daily Prompt –Conceal. Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.

Her heart bleed from the torments of life

Her inner peace is encroached by exasperation

It’s been ten years

Ten years of waiting for that tiny feet

But destiny left her in deep sorrow

Mocked and laughed at by her in-laws

She surrendered her life to hope

But hope too left her forlorn

The unkindest cut of them all

Came from her one treasure

For too quickly he forgot

Their solemn vows of matrimony

Because fate served her with ill-luck

A betrayal which slapped her thin ego

Left her trapped with dark eye bags

A quick glance at her and you’d never know

That the dark goggles are a façade

With her face wrapped up in concealers

To conceal her deepest pain

A pain that flood her sunken eyes

Where is that promise of sweet love forever?

A rhetoric that echoed dead silence

  1. Conceal my heart, for truth I cannot bear; like enigmatic art, the meaning under layer; pleasantries above, deep darkness is obscured; yet on the winded dove, the piercing light secured; so unconceal my heart, for truth I now can bear; darkness to depart, while leaping from the stairs.

      1. I don’t know what I would have done in a situation like that. I think when it is a deep seated desire, it has to be impossible to abandon and settle for less than that desire. My heart goes out to all who find themselves in that situation. In fact, I know women who’ve experienced and it is painful. Look at Rachel and Hannah. The community at large and especially family don’t really have a clue.

      2. You said it all. It’s better imagined than experienced. May God help us and grant favour to those who desire such blessings from HIM. Thank you for taking the time to leave an insightful comment.
