False – The Daily Prompt!

I trusted you

I adored you

I cared for you

I loved you so

But I should have known

I should have known

Until the truth

Dropped like a bombshell

And jolted me to reality

I should have known

That you had been

A deception

A false hope

A mere illusion

Deluding my psyche

With your subtle pretenses

  1. AH! So profound on more than one level: I’m thinking of how we deceive OURSELVES, how we embrace the lies of our spiritual enemy Satan, and how our 21st century culture pressures us into images that are not real!!! (I work with a 6th grade girls’ club at my school called “Girl emPOWERment” and this is very relevant!) Thank you for this!

    • You’re welcome. Glad to know its relevant to your girls club…they should be equipped with the right info to curb such experiences. Often times we see the true images, but ignore them and tell ourselves that everything will be fine until the whole thing implodes. Sadly, but that’s the way of life. Thanks. 🙂
