I dream to wake up in the morning

With the sun peeping through the clouds

Injecting new life into my winter stunned world

I dream to soak myself in the sun for hours

With no stormy thoughts

But to visualise and feed my imaginations

I dream of game times and celebrations

Fun time spent amidst family and friends

Sharing tidbits and laughter

Enjoying the delish spread as we mingle and giggle

I dream of parks and gardens adorned with fairy lights

With beautiful flowers nodding their heads in delight

I dream of driving down to that scenic paradise

White sandy beaches with sparkling frothy waves

And beautiful lakes with plush green meadows

Listening to the blackbirds, the Wrens and Chaffinches

Carolling in their orchestrated chorus

As I nestle my head surrounded by cherry blossoms

Dazzled by their well-manicured bliss-pink petals.

Devoid of catastrophes and scary crippling terror

A world devoid of man’s cruelty and failings

A world purged of indigents and deprived souls

Oh! A world filled with human milk of love and care

I dream of strength and a hope that never dims

Wrapped in immeasurable bliss and joy

The American Dream!

 

I read a story this morning on Facebook about a Nigerian lady who left Nigeria for the United States through the Green Card Scheme. Prior to her Diaspora experience, she was a successful trader in Nigeria. However, her expectations of a beautiful America flowing with milk and honey were not met upon arrival.

She was shocked that there were no provisions of work by the US Government. She thought with the Green Card, the Government provides you housing and work upon arrival. But to her dismay, there was nothing of such. She ended up working in a fast food eatery for 3 years with a meager paycheck that was barely enough to sustain her.

Weekend Giggles…!

 

Communication, as we all know, is key to a functioning relationship. Therefore, to keep that flame burning, one need to constantly check up on their partners, friends or those closest to them. I figured out that a text or a call in the morning from a loved one is as essential as breakfast.

You know how the body craves food in the morning after a long fast or sleep at night, so a loved one needs to hear the voice of their partner. This boosts the feeling frequency for the day. The happiness emotion helps kickstart the day on a good note. Just reading a beautiful message from someone you love makes you giggle like a baby. Isn’t it? Now, this act does not only portray courtesy but it shows care, love, and attention.

Reflections Of Summer In Texas.

 

My summer vacation this year was eventful and quite exciting. It was weeks of absolute bliss with friends and family members. I spent quality time in great company. I mean never to be forgotten moments with some amazing people. These are people I could call true friends. People I could call family. People who would open the doors of their homes any time I knocked. They are friends who would offer me food without minding if I brought them tubers of yams or basins of Garri. These are friends who turned sisters and who eventually became family. You know that saying – family does not have to be by blood alone.

My Focus Word For Today Is Dilly-Dallying: 

The worst that can happen to a PERSON is not taking a decision. It’s a disaster for anyone to live life through indecisions. Are you always torn between what to say, what to do, how to react, how to move, what to wear, what to eat…? Do you have a big problem weighing options endlessly and tossing between indecisions? When you keep dilly-dallying, you waste too much precious time. It is harmful to be in that state of hesitations and aimless wandering.

Well, it’s never too late to correct any wrong. I agree, it was an oversight on my part but, now, we have it.
