Every Day People: Just You And Me!

Once I was done with dinner at home or during free days, I always have the urge to go for a walk to seep in the cool breeze. Sometimes, I decide to amble around the neighbourhood park. Other times, I like meandering on the busy high streets especially in summer times, to people watch, or just to poke my eyes into the goodie shops, you know, window shopping. Yes, it’s a hobby I enjoy. Just looking at you and him and her, as you move briskly or casually at the city centers and town parks kindle a spark within me.

The Everyday People I encounter makes for an interesting narrative because of the richness in diversity. Everyone, each person, each individual has a distinguished rhythm and footfall that elevates some curiosity within me.

It was interesting to watch the crowd as I walked along the busy high street the other day. Call it a sightseeing tour of the area and you are right. The whole place is always agog with people of different shapes and sizes. They were all out for different reasons. A sea of heads, moving in different directions wow me always.

I looked at the couple before me, they appeared to be so much in love. The kind of love that makes you jealous of love itself. The kind of love that makes you want to hug your partner so tightly and tell him or her how much you love them. Well, they were enjoying each other’s company in a cozy way.

When I turned my head to the other side of the platform, I saw a lone soul standing at a corner lost in thoughts, smoking profusely. Perhaps, wondering when the world will end so that his troubles and woes will end too. But there is no end to this struggle in life except you put an end to it. How may you ask? By being yourself and striving hard to make a living through honest channels.

I saw unmarried folks, young and old, middle-aged, those who look so professional. Those who wore very strange demeanour. All of these people, moving in random gait, seeping in the weather and all in their own different world, trapped in their own thoughts. Such is what life is made of, I believe!

But come to think of it, these total strangers look so much similar and alike at first glance. But I got a quirk with a closer look and scrutiny of these faces. They were of a different mix, of a different breed. They were all distinct, indeed.

There he stood, a smiling Danish father holding his son by the hand in a slow pace to enable the little boy to match up with his steps. I got a chuckle from this view. It was cute and adorable to be with your little boy as he drags his small feet after you.

There was the middle-aged woman with a colourful tattoo, smiling at no one, in particular, walking briskly into the hair salon just opposite the bank.

As I turned to the road facing the big church, I saw an Indian guy with his bike looking happy. A pretty young girl about 15 years was talking away on her iPhone. Her beautiful black coat tightly clung to her slim figure. Exquisite is a perfect word fit only for her. She must have been created on a cold winter night in December.

When I looked down to the legs and feet of these noble people, strangers, all in their own rights heading towards nowhere in particular. At least, none that I know of. I couldn’t see beyond the stretch of my eyes. Can’t tell the destinations of these souls. Of course, I am not a mind reader in any way. Or do you think I was?

It was a spectacular sight! They all have a blend of Nikes, Adidas, Sketchers, New Balance, Puma and more. A rich blend of brands adorned their feets. Wow! An exhibition of radiant colours of footwear was on display, albeit, inadvertently. I named them hybrid shoes and lowbred stilettoes. Shoes and trainers of diverse sizes. Some others wore ordinary footwears that make no delectable impressions. But, I got a glimpse of the stories behind all these photographic views playing out in my mind. They all tell me that all fingers are not equal. But we all meet on the same path of the crowded street, on the crossroads of life, strangely moving in different directions, fighting our own personal wars.

Only one thing was certain, I have enjoyed a good picture of people living their lives and minding their business on the busy paths of life. I have engaged myself in deep thoughts and have been thrilled, just watching and observing the ordinary man on the street, walking briskly, and strangely lost in their own world.

I bent down to pick up the red pen that dropped from my hand. As I looked up, I saw him, he looked delicious. Almost so impeccable. With his sunglasses moving ahead expressionless. He was damn gorgeous. He elicited a smile from me. And that was enough. He was a perfect figure to see on a sunny summer day.

What a refreshing hit of charm, I would say. Thus, a wonderful day just watching the everyday people on the streets of life.

The Daily Prompt – Witty!

In our contemporary world, to be an effective teacher, public speaker, writer, blogger etcetera and no matter the genre we deal with, demand to engage with an audience. It requires effective communication.

In show business or the entertainment industry, whether TV or Radio, it is important to poke some fun as you carry out your job. Nothing beats a TV talk show host who has a great sense of humour. Or even a Radio presenter especially with music who knows how to elicit laughter and amusement by cracking some jokes while performing their duties. Continue reading “The Daily Prompt – Witty!”

Thank God It’s Friday!

Yippeee! Whoop Whoop!

It’s the end of another week and the beginning of yet another weekend when we take a break from work, a break from the hustling of the week, to relax our tired nerves. It’s a time to spend with family and loved ones.  A time to eat some special delicacies. To have dinner with the special people in our lives. It’s a moment to laze about and just lounge ourselves on the sofa with a good book or magazine. Or even to listen to your favourite music. It’s relaxation time for most people.

And a time to find that solitary space and spend quality time with yourself. Perhaps, meditating, perhaps, trying to think about the core decisions you need to make to meet your goals.  Continue reading “Thank God It’s Friday!”

Good Morning World – Let’s Connect…

Dear Friends,

How was your week? Hope it went well. Welcome to this beautiful Saturday.

Here in my world, it’s sunshiny and radiant. I don’t know what I am going to do with myself today but should decide as the day progresses. However, I was looking at my friend’s lists and I realise that I’ve got some new followers and I’ll like to know a little more about them. At least where in the world they are writing from.

I made a similar post in February last year but it’s a long time now. So please even for my old friends here, refresh my memory again. Let’s know where we live in this planet called earth and in this big and glamorous world, we exist in.

It will be nice to know where you wake up from. Where you reside in this planet? Where you live, work and play your role in the scheme of things? Continue reading “Good Morning World – Let’s Connect…”
