The Frailty of Life…!!!

Last year, I lost a friend back in Nigeria. She was one of those people who you will never feel bored sharing your time with. She was bright, intelligent and very expressive. One Sunday evening in August, 2016, she sent me a message telling me she wanted to speak with me and how she has so missed me. She had tried my number which unknown to her had been changed. I replied that I would call her with my new number as soon as I could. I totally forgot to call her and days crept into weeks. Continue reading

Entrances and Exits…

The trees are going bare and nude

‘Cos the leaves are dispersing one by one

Just as people who stroll into our lives

Leave us one by one at certain periods

I grieve as I watch entrances and exits

The pains of gaining and of loosing

Of moments spent together in bliss

And the brokenness with goodbyes

Such is the way life is made of

That seasons come and seasons go

As the autumn shifted her fall beam and glow

To let winter’s hands grip my body again

Oh, this season too comes with her bliss

Heralding the peculiar beauty of the times

The jingle bells are ringing again

Aah, I must endure this slap of harsh cold

Life is recurring and seasonal

People come and people go

Low moments and high moments

A time to sow and a time to reap

A period of recession and of boom

Just as people stroll into our lives

They must exit our space too

We inhale and exhale

For no moment last forever

Peace and Love!

A time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.…”

I didn’t realise I was lost in thoughts

My memories of that fateful day are a series of fragmented episodes Continue reading
