Good Morning World

 

Mornings are inevitable.

Mornings come after night.

So how do you approach them?

With doubts and gloom?

With Hope and Optimism?

Even in the greyest Mornings, HOPE instills strength.

Hope infuses new energy.

As I looked up the Sky this morning, amidst the greyness, are slithers of blue. Oh yes, slithers of blue here and there.

What does that mean?

There is that silver lining even in the darkest cloud.
There is that flicker of hope, that flicker of trust, that flicker of love, somewhere in the horizons.

There is that flicker of assurances, somewhere, somehow, even so, close to you.

And You alone can find this HOPE.

YOU.

Get up.

Dwell on the good things and happy memories.

And join me to celebrate this beautiful sunshine. This Morning Glory.

Join me to celebrate life.

Smile. Breathe. Just live.

It Takes Two…!

 

Two are better than one

‘Cos two makes loneliness a stranger

Two can halve the troubles

‘Cos two makes the burden easier

two can walk better together

and neither can stand alone

for every pleasure doubles

and everywhere is home

Two can walk on together

through strife and pain

through laughter and bliss

our light will shine through the darkness  

our laughter will resonate every morning

Two can weather all weathers

through every day and every night.

I can’t promise you forever

but I can promise you, my honest love

I will offer you the best of me

and seal it with a smile and a kiss

I Arise…!

 

From the darkness of the night

I awoke

To the light of a promising day

Armed with selfless thoughts

With empowering cravings

To rise above yesterday’s failures

The ashes of past glories

The lies of illusions and hallucinations

Today is the new truth

I arise

To carve a new reality

And drift away from the oblivious lies of past confessions

That ended in disasters

Today, I awoke and I arise

To take a leap into life

To crush the confessions I make in silence

To deflate the egos of limiting beliefs

From the darkness of the previous night

I awoke

To spring forth and blossom

Love, the antidote to the poison that triggers hate

Love, the one word that can’t be defined when truly felt

Love, the music of the heart

To All Poetry Enthusiasts!

 

I don’t joke with people who have a taste for poetry. To all the poetry enthusiasts, I’d say, keep writing ‘cos the world will keep reading too.

I admire the fact that passionate feelings can be expressed through imaginative words in a creative aesthetic style and rhythm.

Unfortunately, Poetry is not accorded the recognition it deserves, especially in African literature. It’s not a genre of literature that is hugely appreciated no doubt, and this can be attributed to its distinctive language. However, with more poets (Africans) rising up, this conception might change in the near future.

So, today, let me honour the Masters of this distinctive art the world over, Poets, who craft words, mould them, weave them together, adding rhythmic beauty to these letters to create a superb gripping effect. 🙂

To all the poets who add special intensity and beauty to letters as they invoke emotions into their poetry –  SALUTE.
