Devotional Nuggets – #98

This morning, all I want to do is to encourage us to keep holding on to God. Delay is not denial and we have to stay focused on our belief in God because He is able to meet us at the points of our needs.

Dear Friends, hold on, I say, hold on, hold on for the Lord will go before us to bring recompense, restoration and increase back to us. Just key into the word of God and believe today that The Lord is rising in your defence! Amen. Continue reading “Devotional Nuggets – #98”

Easter Reflections!

This is the Lenten Season.

A period of time where Christians especially the Catholics observe lent and engage in fasting as they reflect upon the teachings of Christ. His death and what it signifies to the body of Christ – The Church.

Easter signifies the victory over death by our Lord Jesus Christ.
It’s a defining moment to ponder on the climactic events leading to the crucifixion of our Lord.
Easter is the reason we are Christians in the first place.

One of my favourite scriptures that keep my eyes on the prize when it comes to daily life experiences is Galatians 6:9. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up. Continue reading “Devotional Nuggets – #97”

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence;  and take not thy holy spirit from me.  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” Psalms 51:10-12

Lord, I give you praise because, in your wrath, you remembered mercy. I bless you because you did not cast me away forever. Continue reading “Devotional Nuggets – #96”

Good Morning World!

“Never forget that God is your friend. And like all friends, He longs to hear what’s been happening in your life. Good or bad, whether it’s been full of sorrow or anger, or even when you’re questioning why terrible things have to happen.”  – Nicholas Sparks Continue reading “Good Morning World!”

I Still Dare…!

I still dare to live life even when life is losing its meaning

I still dare to love myself even when the people around me turn heartless

I still dare to hope even when my courage is failing me

I still dare because I still have a breath in me

Devotional Nuggets – #93

It’s a glowing Saturday morning here in my little abode. I’ve just returned from the gym and the only thing on my mind as I walked back home was to remind us again that He is always there for us. I hope I’d reiterate the truth to us, in case we’ve lost some hope that He makes a way, where there seems to be no way. Continue reading “Devotional Nuggets – #93”

The Sunday Routine!

It’s another signal that the day has come

As the metal bell continues to reverberate

Like the voice of a thousand cries

Mingled with the melodic clanging

That echoed all through the countryside

Nearby, are the hurried steps of the weekly enthusiasts?

Clad in the finest of their Sunday apparels

The Reverend sat in the Vestry

With his hands clamped on his knees

Awaiting the tick of time for the benediction

He looked regal in his long robe

***************

It’s 10 0’clock and the cathedral is filled to the brim

The backside of the gigantic edifice parades heads of late-comers

Standing whispering subtle inaudible expressions

On the front row are empty seats

But no one dare rest their butts on these sacred spaces

Clearly inscribed on them were the revered words – Reserved.

For the knights and the affluent who fuel the gospel

***************

Ahhhh, Nkiru sat between the two aged women

In her usual demeanour of a saintly child

She raised her head skyward

And with hands clasped together, she begins to whisper

Oh Lord she begins

Oh Lord, teach me your words

Teach me in kindness

Teach me in love

Oh Lord, help us to learn your ways

Ignite the power of love among your People

Give us the divine impulse to show your love

So that the world will dine less in wickedness

So that your children will shed their evilness

And sheath the sword of hatred and violence

Oh Lord, give us a new heart of friendship

Of humbleness and compassion and of gratitude

To know that we are your children

Born to show love to one another

Born to sow the seeds of affability

And of good deeds

Oh Lord, protect our world

Protect our families

And make us prosper in your righteousness

Oh Lord, answer our prayers

And bless us beyond our words

Amen.
