Back To My Comfort Zone!

Ouch! It feels so so good to be here again!

I am awfully sorry for my sudden disappearance from this platform. I’ve been absent here for a month now.

I’m so sorry that I didn’t hint you of my travel plans.

Oh yes, I’ve been away to my homeland and thought I could reach out to you all from there. However, life presents us with surprises and unexpected developments.

Sadly, I realized upon arrival in Nigeria that one major problem posed to the citizens was poor internet connectivity.  There is either low or no services at all and this disrupted my blogging routines and access to the world.

Did I enjoy the stark reality of this development? Not at all.

I felt cut off from the world.

I couldn’t function maximally and I was down for a few days as this reality dawned on me. However, I emerged from the gloom and bounced back to life so I could at least enjoy the reconnections with family and old friendships.

In spite of the few challenges, I had wonderful moments with my family especially with my mother who was so so delighted to see her daughter again after so many years.

I managed to pull through other frustrations because so many things have changed. There is a big difference in the whole environment. And I couldn’t fit in properly into the existing norms anymore.

Today, I feel so happy to be back to a clime where things work better.

I am back in Denmark.

I feel alive again as the cold air welcome me home. It’s all wintry here. The grey sky and the naked trees are familiar sights that I’ve come to appreciate over time.  And even the harsh winter cold is magical and soothing to my body after the discomforting heatwave back in Nigeria.

It feels so so good that I’m home again.

I am grateful and thankful to God for safe travels.

I miss you all. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge – Prolific!

This week, we were asked to show an interpretation of prolific. Seeing this week’s theme and the illustrative pictorial, I went into my US photo archive to dig out my vacation pictures taken in the Music city of Nashville.

I travelled to the United States last year November and one of the seven States I visited was Nashville, Tennesse.  It was an unforgettable experience and I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Nashville downtown or City Centre. The  Music City arena was a brilliant spectacle and I was enthralled by the whole adventure.

The first three photos were taken in Nashville and my take on “Prolific”. Continue reading “Weekly Photo Challenge – Prolific!”

My Photo Of The Day – Captured yesterday evening at Houston, Texas.

So sorry friends, I couldn’t come online as I thought on this trip. The internet has been unstable and I’ve been on the move since I arrived the US on Tuesday.

Will try my best to make a post at least once a day.

Thank you. 🙂

The Daily Prompt – Popular!

Among the top vacation cities in Europe is Paris, the capital of France. Paris, also known as the City of Light is the world’s most visited capital. It’s a popular tourist attraction and welcomes so many vacationers during the summer time.  Continue reading “The Daily Prompt – Popular!”

Now That The Kids Are Home…

Dear Parents, How are you fairing this vacation period with the children? I know it’s always an amazing time to experience quality family moments.

But on the flip side, how is it really going with you? What’s the different experience now that they spend more time at home? Interesting! Exhaustive! Stressful! More talk, disorderliness, screams and shouts! Oh, quite hectic, I believe.  Continue reading “Now That The Kids Are Home…”

Photo Of The Day!

Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England, UK, is the Birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It’s a tourist attraction and very beautiful. The rule here is that pictures are not allowed to be taken inside the exquisite massive building, well as at the time I visited in 2008. I don’t know if things have changed now.

It is the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough, and the only non-royal non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. (internet source)

Call it a museum of some sort and you’d be right.  Continue reading “Photo Of The Day!”

Weekly Photo Challenge – Bridge!

“For this challenge, interpret the theme “bridge.” You can go the same route as I did and capture any type or style of a bridge where you are, or go deeper and take a snapshot of something or someone that acts as a bridge in your life: a link, a connection, a mediator.” – Cheri Lucas Rowlands

When I saw this week’s challenge and the illustrative pictorial bridge, I was excited because I had the same photo of the Oxford bridge taken in 2008 when I visited Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, UK, the Birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It’s a major and busy tourist attraction! Perhaps I should post photos of this great place.  Continue reading “Weekly Photo Challenge – Bridge!”
