My photo of the Day – The Great Belt Bridge in Denmark.
The suspension bridge is known as the Great Belt or The Storebælt Bridge. Spanning 18 km long, this bridge links the Eastern and Western parts of Denmark together. It is a busy motorway, open 24/7 and constructed between 1988 and 1998.
Approximately 27,000 cars traverse the bridge daily. And it’s quite at its peak during the summertime when the traffic rises to about 40,000 cars a day.
All motorist pay toll charges at the toll station located at Halsskov.
The Storebælt bridge is one of the longest span bridges in the world and also one of the greatest engineering feat ever undertaken in Danish history.
Peace and Love!
