As the soft music that wafted through the air wave, rose in crescendo, Mary, shut her eyes and transported herself to the past. This particular song takes her back in time, during her University days when she spends the entire weekend with her boyfriend. She had thought that their union would last forever. But no, she was wrong.
No one knew what happened that fateful day. Ricky left the house on a cold Friday morning and never returned.
It was a few days after their graduation from the University. He left no traces or even a note. He left without a goodbye. He simply disappeared without a single word to anyone. None of their friends had any inkling of his plans. He just walked away. And there was no news about any accident anywhere in the busy town that enjoyed the bustling of students from all over the world.
It was a silent echo that traumatized Mary for months. She encountered many sleepless nights and excruciating pain as she was left to unravel a mystery bigger than she could comprehend. A shattering incident. A devastating tale. A movie best watched on the screen as a spectator than experienced in actual life. But this was reality and Mary tasted real pain.
Three years later, She was blessed with a loving husband and a beautiful daughter. And this was enough to wipe off the pains of the past. The pains of the betrayal and story of a man who eloped with a lady he was having a clandestine affair with. News reached her a year later when Ricky wrote begging her for forgiveness. He was jilted by his lover who rejected his marriage proposal. He was dumped by the same woman he eloped with.
Isn’t life a mystery? Isn’t life a great teacher? Isn’t it amazing sometimes how a bad event becomes a turning point in our lives? Isn’t it interesting that time heals all wounds and numbs our pains? Isn’t life bitter-sweet?

I don’t think time heals all wounds. But life certainly teaches you

You have a point. It depends on what is at stake here. But time numbs the pain. It reduces the hurt unlike a fresh wound.
